Kiwi is a 12 year old Australian Cattle Dog, and she has been playing
the very fun sport of Agility with Anne for over 10 years.  Kiwi and
Anne discovered and learned Agility together, each as the partner and
teacher of the other.   Over the years Kiwi has enjoyed some exciting
moments in Agility as the 2004 Australian Cattle Dog National Champion
in the AKC Standard class, as a 2004 USDAA Performance Grand Prix
Finalist, and also finishing at the top in two of the Performance
All-Around Classes at the 2004 USDAA Nationals.  Kiwi and Anne have
competed at the USDAA National Agility Championships three times, and
have great memories in Arizona running the courses and enjoying this
fun sport they learned together more than a decade ago.  In May 2005
Kiwi tore a ligament in her knee that required a major surgery and a
one-year lay-up from agility and all rigorous activity, the possiblity
of returning to agility was uncertain for Kiwi.  After two surgeries,
extensive rehabilitation, and teaching Kiwi how to walk normally again
- it was clear after 12 months of rehab that Kiwi was ready to return
to her normal life as an active dog.  Slowly and gradually, Kiwi
returned to Agility and qualified for the 2006 USDAA National
Championships again within a matter of months.  Kiwi has a great deal
of heart in her small body, and will try her best despite physical
limitations - she is a big dog in a compact package!!  At 12 years old
Kiwi is spry and active, and she makes the most of every day and
luckily for both Kiwi and Anne - that includes their favorite sport,
Agility.
