USDAA A very fun weekend at Kristy Netzer's! It was very warm for a December show, but the courses were fun (lots of handling options), the competitors good sports and there were great results for all the GVDCers! Woohoo! The judge was Tammi Stone, remember that name, because she's excellent! My dogs were very good this weekend. On Saturday, both dogs Qed in Standard. Finn won 26", Max took 3rd in 22". Finn Qed (4th) in Snooker, which finished his Snooker Ch (SM+5 more Masters Snooker legs) and Max finished his Gamblers Ch with a great gamble. Max and Finn also both made the second round of the Steeplechase. Star had a great Steeplechase run going, until the last two obstacles. Then she melted, because she'd been scared by a lady with a baby carrier (looked like a giant two-headed monster to her) in the corner where the closing line took us. My bad for not addressing the problem better in the day before her run, aside from the meltdown she was awesome! Sunday, Max and Finn both finished in the money in Steeplechase (Finn 3rd for $22 and Max 8th-I took a chance that didn't pay off-for a whopping $5). Then they both Qed in Jumpers, Max with a particularly good run (Finn 4th finishing his JCH, Max 3rd). In Snooker I decided to just do something that I was comfortable with and not go for really big points. Finn did the plan great. It was probably the best run we had all weekend. Max and I had some bobbles and just barely made it through the closing in time. Everyone else must have crashed and burned because both dogs won! Woohoo! That's definitely a first for me (no pun intended). They also both Qed in Pairs, which finished Max's RCH-Bronze...15 Master Relay legs. Max's run was memorable, because it was with fellow GVDCer Gidget and was her first Masters Pairs leg! Woohoo! Finn missed his A-frame contact in the Pairs class and missed it again in Standard, but I was able to do a really good correction and I think I may have made an impact. He was VERY good the rest of the run. Max and I also had a chaotic Standard. When I led out, I turned around and Max was on his way to the scorer's table to get food. I called him before he made it and he somehow found his way back to the first jump. Shortly thereafter, we had a refusal, so the rest of the run was reinforcing contacts and really going for it in between. It was very fun! Star and Jessie ran Zippity Pairs together. Star was a little sluggish, but it was hot and I think I was a bit wimpy with her. Still they finished 4th and Star did everything I asked her to do. Good girl! I know I'm missing some results, but I did see both Diane and Anne have some great runs with their dogs. Diane's Snooker run with Gidget inspired me to take some chances with Finn. They must have ended up with a Super Q in that class, since I know Finn placed and they kicked our behinds. I also know they Qed in Pairs. Every time I see those two in the ring, they just look better and better! Anne also looked very good with both her dogs. Zip was the 3rd fastest qualifier in Saturday's Steeplechase! Good boy! They also won Snooker on Saturday! Sunday they took second in Jumpers and I want to say they Qed in Snooker... Kiwi won PIII Snooker and Jumpers! Good girl! Here's some more from Peggy: Let's see! What a fun weekend!! The one ring show is soooooo relaxing and fun!!!! You can watch and cheer everyone and not miss runs!!!! Jessie was a great girl and Q'd three out of three with a great gamble!!! Also was in Zippity Pairs with Star and that was fun!!! We even did the hard part huh Mia!!!! Indy was a great little girl for her first all masters trial!!! She Q'd in snooker, jumpers and relay with TC. All the rest were good runs with me just goofing up! I am most proud of going for it in Snooker and doing or attempting to do 4 reds each day!!! No more wimping out! Also I "sucked it up late on Sunday" and ran Indy in Masters standard even though we were all tired! All we had was one refusal(my fault) or it would have been a Q!!! She was a good girl and we had fun! Peggi and Labs
It was a very fun show and I'm looking forward to many more in the coming year! Tell the dogs they're good. mia
