3:00pm: Canine Good Citizen Class w/Anne
August 29, 2021 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
3:00pm: Canine Good Citizen Class, Starts July 18th:
I will be offering a Canine Good Citizen preparation class, in which we will practice and train the skills that comprise the CGC test, taking the test at the end of the session is optional. This is a great class to help develop your dog into one with good manners in the community and also a nice first step if you plan to certify your dog as a therapy dog eventually. We will be working on skills that include training focus, loose leash walking, stay, come when called, and nice manners around people and other dogs.
From the AKC Website:
The Canine Good Citizen Program was originally designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. This is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for dog owners and good manners for dogs. The Canine Good Citizenship Program lays the foundation for other AKC activities such as obedience, agility, rally, and performance events. Training the CGC skills will enhance the bond between you and your dog.
