I am excited to announce that Introductory Agility classes begin this Sunday at Girsh Park! If you haven’t signed up and are interested in doing so please let me know, there are still a couple of openings in both classes. Intro Agility I begins at 11:00. Please come a little early so we can get through the sign-up process and get in as much time as we can working with the dogs. Intro Agility II starts at 9:30.
If you have been watching the weather reports it looks almost certain that we will be getting some rain Fri/Sat. The field at the park does not drain well and becomes very muddy if it receives too much rainfall. That said, there is a chance I will have to cancel our first class meeting. I will send out an email Saturday evening letting you know if class is canceled or not. Please check your email before coming to class on Sunday.
We meet at Girsh park located behind Costco see directions below. Please bring a 6 foot leash and a flat buckle collar (No choke chains, prong collars or flexi leads), soft treats (Natural Balance or string cheese work well), a toy your dog will tug with or chase, and water for the two of you. A hat and sunscreen are also good ideas.
You will have a chance to join the Goleta Valley Dog Club and get a discount on the class and future practices. I will talk more about the benefits of joining the club at our first meeting.
Directions: Get off on Storke/Glenn Annie and head towards the ocean and Hollister Ave. Cross through Hollister Ave. and keep going beyond the entrance to the mall and the fire station. Once you’re past the mall the next light should be Phelps. Turn right and keep going until you get to the 5th entrance to the Park. You will see a short white trailer, some agility equipment and dogs.
Please email me with any questions.
