Beginner-Novice Skills w/Anne

12:00pm: Beginner-Novice Skills
This class is for dogs and handlers newer to the fun sport of agility, and have completed the Intro to Agility classes 1 & 2. We will continue to work the obstacles individually, making sure that your dogs feel confident on the equipment and have the correct performance. Plan on rewarding often, bring toys that you can hide treats in, and tug toys as well.

Enrollment opens on Monday 8/12, at 8:00am, PLEASE do not reply before then. If you can attend this next session (and I hope you can!) please reply no later than next Wednesday morning, ideally sooner in case the class you want fills up. All the details are below:

Dates for the 5-class session – please note these on your calendar:
August 18, 25 September 8, 29 October 13th
Skip Date (No Classes) on September 1st, 15th, 22nd or October 6th
In the event that a class is canceled, the make-up date will be in October 27th
Cost per dog for the session: $125/GVDC members, $150/non-GVDC members (please bring cash or a check for the cost of the full session to the first class)

*All classes take place at Girsh Park in Goleta, behind Costco: Practices – Goleta Valley Dog Club
*Payment for the class session is due on the first day of the session, checks are made out to “GVDC”
*Dogs showing aggression towards people or other dogs will be asked to leave
*Per GVDC club policy, dogs in Agility classes must not be aggressive towards other dogs or people, and under control of their handler at all times.*
For all Agility Classes, please bring with you each week: Your dog on a flat buckle collar or front-clip harness. Bring a variety of delicious meaty treats for your dog, water and a bowl, a chair for yourself, shade for your dog, clicker, 4 or 6 foot leash (no flexi’s please), and ideally a crate or pen for your dog. Please bring a toy or two that your dog really enjoys, to use as a reward throughout the class.
