10:30am Foundation Agility Skills:

This class is good for young dogs and novice dogs of any age. Minimum age requirement: 5 months old. Fun and games with our pups to help build skills.

We will be focusing on building a foundation for our agility dogs, some of the things we will cover include:
Using toys to build motivation and excitement for the reward (can be food toys as well)
Movement exercises: Restrained recalls, teaching acceleration and how to read deceleration
Basics of turns using cones and jump wings
Enhancing stays and release words, impulse control work
Maintaining focus and engagement around distractions
Work with fit-paws equipment and jump bumps
Introduction to jump grids (using jump bumps)
Teaching rear-end awareness
Introduction to certain obstacles: tunnel, table, tire, downside contacts

October 25  November 1, 8, 15, 29

Skip Dates (No Classes) on November 22nd. 

In the event that I need to cancel a class due to bad weather, the make-up date will be held on December 6th.  Please note that 12/6 will not be a date that I have a class for those that cannot make a class during the planned session.  Refunds are not issued for missed classes.

Cost per dog for the 5-class session: $125/GVDC members, $150/non-GVDC members (please bring cash or a check for the cost of the full session to the first class)
