Jim Basic Seminar
June 9, 2012 - June 10, 2012
Save the Date
Jim Basic will be coming back June 9th & 10th (yes, that’s the weekend of the San Diego USDAA).
June 9 is Distance Skills, this is for teams that would like to improve their directionals and general independence (teaching the skills needed for getting your dog to work away from you, including “out” and a change of direction cue, turn or left and right). This is the first step for good Gamblers skills and also helpful for those of us that have dogs that we can’t keep up with.
June 10 is Gamblers. The requirement for participating in this seminar is
reliable directionals: Lateral cue like “Out”, forward cue like “Go” and a
change of direction verbal “turn” or “left/right”. Dogs must also be able to send to a tunnel from 20+feet. This seminar will put more focus on strategy for Gamblers openings and best set ups into the gamble itself. It is not the place to work on the basics of Gamblers, that is Distance Skills. Getting in the Gamblers seminar will not be based on the level teams are competing, but will be based on skill sets.
Neither of these seminars are based on competition levels, they are based on skills. If you aren’t sure if you have the skills required for the Gamblers seminar, please talk with me. I highly recommend both seminars, there is no one better at these types of skills than Jim Basic.
Cost will be $150 for club members, $175 for non-members. Spots will be held after the spot is approved by me and the check is received by Anne. If you’re interested in participating, please email me privately.
