Zip is a very happy blue-merle Border Collie and he is 13 years old. He is aptly named Zippy and you will see why if you watch him on an agility course. Zip loves the sport of Agility and usually vocalizes his excitement as he runs the courses. Zip has competed five times at the USDAA National Agility Championships and in 2006 he was a Finalist in the Performance Grand Prix and he won the 16″ Performance Power and Speed class as well.

Zip and Anne discovered the fun sport of Rally Obedience together and compete in both APDT and AKC Rally trials. In 2006, Zip was the #1 Ranked Dog in the USA in the Level 1 Division, no small feat considering that the APDT Rally venue is very big on the East Coast where they have trials every weekend. Zip has his Rally Champion Excellent title in APDT and his Rally Excellent title in AKC. Zip earned his CD title in both AKC and ASCA Obedience, with scores in the mid 190’s and all first place finishes. In his earlier years Zip participated in Flyball and Herding.

Zip is a registered therapy dog and enjoys his visits to a local hospital. He is extremely gentle with all of the patients and will get as close to wheelchairs and the bed-sides as he possibly can, in order to visit with people and soak up the attention.

His favorite way to end the day is to run on the beach with Mike and his pals Maizey and Kylie and then to watch TV from the couch when he gets home. One of Zip’s favorite weekend activities is to join Mike at work on Sunday evenings as #1 companion and foot warmer.
